Local Boss Babes
"Empowered women, empower women"
By Kate Woodman
At Vintage Willows, we thrive on creating a community that lifts up women and their individual talents and gifts. We are passionate about uplifting other women who are Business Owners and Go-getters in the fashion and art industry. We are so fortunate to showcase local artists from the Northern Colorado area in the shop.
Last Thursday, we had the opportunity to participate as a pop-up shop for The Blush Society's first public event in Downtown Loveland. We were honored to be a part of it, but had no idea what an empowering experience it would be. A few words that come to mind when reflecting on that amazing event are "BOSS BABES", and "YOU GO GIRL". Not to mention, champagne, rose, and pink hummus. Say what?! Yes, we got to indulge in yummy goodies like pink hummus and other blush-themed goodies. The event was fabulous and I could go on about all the lovely decor and bad-ass chick band, BUT what was more of a takeaway for me and the Vintage Willows crew, is how many amazing women are rocking it as Boss Babes in the Northern Colorado area. We are honored to have some of those ladies as local artists in our very own storefront.
Lucie Cindoruk of Mount Macrame, is a talented macrame artist. We have her pieces available for purchase in our store, as well as a beautiful macrame wall-hanging displayed in our windows in Downtown Loveland. Did we mention it's available to rent for special events like a wedding or party?
Natalia Lawson of Sun Dust Boutique in Fort Collins makes some our beautiful leather earrings and bracelets. The delicate details of the leather leaf earrings are so unique and beautiful! Natalia's jewelry is available in our store and online, as well as through Sun Dust Boutique on Etsy.
Alex VanLemmeren of SALT Designs is incredibly gifted in a couple different areas of art. Not only does she make some amazing jewelry that we have displayed in our store, but she is also a very talented painter! Alex's jewelry is truly one-of-a-kind and unique because every piece is hand-carved. Alex embraces the art of imperfection in all of her pieces.
Debbie Hanson makes our lovely crochet and beaded necklaces. These necklaces are made with leather, charms, and even some are made with sacred mala beads! Each necklace is handmade and every detail is different. We love the vibrant, colorful charms that Debbie uses.
Julie Shine of Kusa Designs in Boulder designs our beautiful, and very popular, leather wraps. Julie salvages old washers and puts them through a certain alchemaic process that yields a beautiful design, unique to each different leather wrap. Her leather ranges from neutral colors like black and brown to vibrant reds, turquoise, and greens. They can be worn various ways from a bracelet, to choker to lariat.
Brittney and Catie of Grounded Goods design our beautiful wooden earrings! They are our newest addition to the shop and are so popular already! The funky geometric designs are one-of-a-kind.
Abbie Powers of Sun & Dog is talented in so many ways! She creates beautiful silk scarves that are hand dyed to perfection. Her hand-colored resin earrings are set in brass or copper, making them fun, tactile accessories that function beautifully in everyday life.
Brooke of Spirit Animal Stitching created original & custom patches with a raw, organic feel. She is currently working on setting us up with our own custom logo patches!
Thursday, Seotember 20th we will be participating in Downtown Loveland's "Sip & Shop" event. Join Kali at the shop from 4PM-8PM for some shopping and drinks!
We look forward to showcasing these awesome female artists for a special night, in-store, sometime in October. Stay tuned for more details!
